Introduction to Life Coaching

For those of you who are new to life coaching, you may be asking yourself what is a life coach and why would I need one? Life coaching is an inspiring field that encourages self-awareness and self-development. It relies on your own inner wisdom, inner compass, and thoughts and feelings to guide you to a higher level of peace, joy, and purpose. A good life coach will not tell you what to do. He or she will guide you towards what is in alignment with your values, desires, and goals. Life coaching meets you where you are now, and asks you where you’d like to be. It encourages self-acceptance and self-love to fully inhabit your best self and move towards your higher vision for yourself.

Life coaching helps you separate the facts of your life from the story. It empowers you to make healthy decisions for yourself from a place of full knowledge and respect for yourself.

Life coaching is not about happy thoughts or wishful thinking. In fact, the recognition that life is not supposed to be good and happy all the time is one of the best gifts of life coaching. It’s ok to not feel ok. Feeling bad about feeling bad only compounds negative emotions.

Life coaching is for anyone who may want to improve or enhance their lives in any area – relationships, wellness, career, passions, finances, etc. If you’ve ever thought “I feel stuck,” a life coach can help.

Life coaching helps us uncover our mostly subconscious thoughts and beliefs which directly lead to results in our lives. It also helps us become aware of subtle shifts in emotions which drive our actions and inactions in life. By uncovering what we are really thinking and feeling, we can start to make small shifts towards our most satisfied selves.
